"Posture Palooza" is a concierge physical therapy practice run by Ellen Humphrey, a licensed physical therapist with 25 years of experience in orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Ellen’s practice is unique in that she blends eastern and western medicine traditions. She specializes in manual therapy as well as bio-mechanical evaluation and treatment. Clients work with Ellen in the private, comfortable, therapeutic space reserved exclusively for clients in her home. Appointments are available by reservation. Clients pay fees at time of service. With doctor's referral, health insurance typically reimburses for PT care.
Ellen named her practice “Posture Palooza” because of the vital importance
of well-balanced body alignment for normal movement and health. Our posture is
the physical framework we live within and well-aligned and balanced posture is
vital for optimal health. Poor posture doesn’t happen overnight. It is a
gradual process. Sooner or later certain muscles become tight while others
become weak. This imbalance causes stress around joints that over time can
result in fatigue, degeneration, injury and pain.
Posture is also important because body language sends a physical message.
People can’t help but notice the way you hold and carry your body against the
constant pull of gravity and well-aligned posture makes you appear healthier,
taller, thinner and more positive. What message are you sending?
As we go about our day we frequently disregard posture. Regrettably, the result
is the many muscle and joint problems we face as a society today. Forward head,
drooping shoulders, curved spine, protruding abdominals, “knocked-knees” and
flat feet to name just a few of the harmful changes that can lead to injury,
lost function, fatigue and pain.
At Posture Palooza physical therapy, we will help you recognize your body’s
strengths and weaknesses. You will leave with an appreciation of your own power
to make positive changes in your health, an instructive digital photographic
analysis of your posture, an exercise prescription and advice geared to help
you optimize your health.
Posture is important and it is never too late to make healthy changes. Call to
make your appointment today!
I’m looking forward to meeting and working with you.
